Important News!

As part of our product line expansion plans, we are changing the name of our transmission control product line to "US Shift.com", effective immediately. Please note that the web site address for our transmission control products has changed to www.USshift.com, and that the old www.OptiShift.com address will soon become inactive.

This is only a product name change, so our company name, ownership, and phone number have not changed, nor has our main corporate web site at www.becontrols.com. Our current transmission control system has been renamed to "US Shift - Quick 1", making it the first product in the new US Shift product line. Please bookmark our new site, and watch for more products in the coming months that will be joining the Quick 1 to create the most complete transmission control product line available.

We are also excited to announce new, lower pricing for our US Shift - Quick 1 controllers. We have reduced the price of our flagship Quick 1 controller to $425. With this new pricing, you can get a Quick 1 controller with a complete wiring harness for as low as $565!

US Shift Tuning Software and Driver Files

We believe that the more you know about US Shift products, the more you will like them, so we encourage you to download and inspect our manuals and our tuning software before you buy our products. Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have.

Our software development philosophy emphasizes robustness, safety, and simplicity. As a result, our software packages use a standalone executable file, make no changes to your Windows system, and do not install any DLLs, or frameworks, such as .NET. This strategy insures that our software can have no negative impact on your computer, and it can be removed by simply deleting the application directory.

Our software has also been unofficially tested on Windows XP under Mac OS / Parallels, and Linux / WINE, with good results.

The latest revision of our Shiftware tuning software is version 3.31. This version works with all US Shift controllers, and it is also backward-compatible with all of our original "Baumannator" transmission controllers. The 3.31 release is a bug fix update to version 3.30, and corrects an issue in version 3.30 that caused tune files to be read incorrectly (all shift points and other settings would be set to the same default settings for all tune files).

Also, please note that US Shift controllers with firmware version 3.3 or higher utilize our new "Direct USB" communication protocol for driverless USB connection. Direct USB is fully plug-and-play, requiring no ".inf" file, driver configuration, or COM setting adjustments, so setup is easy. Tuning software version 3.30 or higher is required to communicate with later controllers that utilize Direct USB.

Please download the correct installation package for the version of Windows that you are using.

Shiftware V3.31 for Windows XP and earlier operating systems

This installation package is intended for Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, and 95. Please note, however, that the US Shift controller will not operate under Windows 95, 98, or ME, due to incompatible USB drivers, so support for these early Windows versions is limited to our older, non-USB transmission controllers.

Shiftware V3.31 for Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems

This installation package is intended for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

USB Driver Information File for US Shift Controllers

Only required for US Shift controllers with firmware versions below 3.3. Not needed for "Direct USB" equipped controllers, or older, non-USB controllers.

This file must be available when the US Shift controller is connected to your system for the first time. You can use the "Browse" option to tell Windows where you have downloaded this file to, so that it can correctly communicate with US Shift. Please note that our installation CDs already include this file and it can be accessed using the "Have Disk" option during driver installation.

To use this file, please right-click the name, then select the "Save As" option.

This file has been updated since the first US Shift controllers were sold in June through August of 2010. If you were an early purchaser of US Shift, and you are having trouble using your controller under Windows 7, or a 64-bit version of Windows XP or Vista, please use this updated file to correct the problem.
